In welcome news for an industry facing uncertain times, the Victorian Government has announced a string of projects around Melbourne this week including:
- Southbank by Beulah – $2Bn mixed use development – Southbank.
- 555 Collins – $1.5Bn office development – Melbourne.
- 52-60 Collins – $650m office development – Melbourne.
- 550 Epsom Rd – $300m apartment development – Flemington.
The ‘big-building’ competition along Southbank has a new contender in Southbank by Beulah with the USStudio/Cox Architecture design at the old BMW dealership site expected to soar over the current peak in Eureka Tower (subject to CASA approval). It’s a double-delight for Cox who were also involved in the 555 Collins development.
All four projects are expected to turn soil before the end of the year with early works ranging from June-October.
