NSW Appoints David Chandler As Inaugural Building Commissioner
NSW has appointed industry veteran David Chandler as the inaugural building commissioner in the first step to addressing the public’s concerns with the industry. Mr Chandler is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Sydney and has been in the industry for >40 years.
The Commissioner will have powers to discipline and and investigate players in the building industry where there is concern over behavior and adherence to standards.
Will this be enough to head-off a royal commission? Time will tell…
